Multimedia management
Visuals (or multimedia) are an integral part of the files. They embody your brand, your products and even your data. But how do you manage your visuals while respecting the standards and requirements of your customers? To make your life easier, the Gaia by Equadis platform features an image editor, which allows you to make your product photos compliant with the different expectations of the central offices or countries.

How can the image editor help you?
Is your image ‘too small’ to be sent to all your customers? Is the resolution too low? Don't panic: the editor is there to help you save as much time as possible in a number of ways. Specifically, you can use it to :
Easily import visuals
Automatically apply the minimum requirements set by your customers
Easily enter descriptive data for your visuals (type of visuals, viewing angles, view represented, etc.).
Add several visuals to your products in one go
Modify the images themselves
Resize photos
Increase the resolution of your photos (‘dpi’)
Convert imageformat (from JPEG to PNG, for example)
Convert the colourimetry of your photos (from CMYK to RGB)
Access the image editor
Access this function via the Data > Multimedia management > Image editor menu.
This takes you to the main screen of the feature. On the left of the screen, a black space lets you add an image from your computer (you can also add several at once).
It is also possible to import a visual that already exists in your catalogue.
Once modified in the editor, the integration of the ‘new version’ of the visual will not overwrite the existing one and will create a duplicate.
3 tabs are available depending on whether you want to :
Automatically apply a standard to your visuals
After accessing the editor
Step 1: To apply a standard, make sure you are on the ‘Apply standard’ tab. You will see the logos of the different connectors. Click on the connector of your choice, then on Apply.
In just a few clicks, your visual will meet your customer's expectations! You can repeat the operation as many times as necessary for each visual loaded into the tool.
Step 2: Have you applied the standard of your choice? You can go further by modifying the image and its descriptive data, or simply attach the visual to a product.
To do this, click on the Add to product sheet button.
You can integrate the selected image, or all the images at once if you have loaded several into the tool. All that remains is to enter your product (you can filter by GTIN or keyword), and click on Save.
If you have imported a visual already present in your catalogue, the integration of this ‘new version’ will create a duplicate in the product file and will not overwrite the basic visual. Of course, you can delete the latter from the product file if you need to.
Edit your images in just a few clicks
After accessing the editor
Step 1: To edit your image, make sure you are on the ‘Edit image’ tab. You will see the metadata for your photo: its dimensions, resolution, etc.
All you have to do is change the information you want directly in the fields displayed on the screen. Here are a few tips to ensure compliance for the vast majority of distributors
Image size | We strongly recommend a minimum of 1500x1500 px and a maximum of 4800 px. |
Resolution | We strongly recommend a minimum of 300 dpi. |
Image format | PNG or JPEG |
Transparency | No specific obligation |
Colour system | Your visual must be in RGB format (CMYK is for paper printing). |
Margin | No specific obligation |
Finally, click Apply.
Step 2: Have you made all the changes you want? You can go further by entering the descriptive data, or simply attach the visual to a product.
To do this, click on the Add to a product sheet button.
You can integrate the selected image, or all the images at once if you have loaded several into the tool. All that remains is to enter the GTIN of the product concerned, and click Save.
If you have imported a visual already present in your catalogue, the integration of this ‘new version’ will create a duplicate in the product file and will not overwrite the basic visual. Of course, you can delete the latter from the product file if you need to.
Easily enter descriptive data for your visuals
After accessing the editor
Step 1: To enter the descriptive data for your visual, make sure you are on the ‘Descriptive data’ tab.
These fields are very useful because, as with the product itself, some data is compulsory for the visuals.
In particular, we recommend that you fill in the following fields
Main visual Type of information Horizontal angle of view Valid from date Type of file Main view represented Type of content |
---|
Step 2: Have you entered all the information you want? You can still apply a standard or edit the image, or simply attach the visual to a product.
To do this, click on the Add to product sheet button.
You can integrate the selected image, or all the images at once if you have loaded several into the tool. All that remains is to enter the GTIN of the product concerned, and click Save.
If you have imported a visual already present in your catalogue, the integration of this ‘new version’ will create a duplicate in the product file and will not overwrite the basic visual. Of course, you can delete the latter from the product file if you need to.
