Brand management
Our Brand management feature enables you to group products under the same brand name and automatically update information on your product sheet.
Time-saving: information specific to your brands is automatically added to new product sheets.
Accurate: you can be sure that brands are managed in a uniform way.
Initialization
To initialize your brand catalog, you must first :
have created at least one product file in your product catalog
have filled in the "Brand" field in the "Identifiers" section.
As long as your brand catalog has not been initialized, you can fill in this free-text field as you wish.
Once the brand field has been completed, you can access your trademark catalog from the Data > Brand management .
Click on the Activate button.
The brand name you entered in the product file appears on the screen.
Activate brand catalog
To activate the brand catalog, simply click on the Activate catalog button. A pop-up window will appear, informing you of the actions this will entail on your product sheets.
Only brands created in this catalog will now be available in product sheets.
This means that, from now on, the "Brand" field will no longer be a free text field in product sheets. It will be a drop-down field, presenting the brands from the brand catalog. This ensures that all brands are uniform!
Brand-related data will remain intact at the level of attached products.
In other words, the data already entered in your product files will not be modified. You don't lose your work.
Is this what you need? Click on the Activate catalog button in the pop-up window. The catalog is now active! You can now manage your existing brands, or create new ones.
Create a new brand
Step 1: To create a new brand in the catalog, go to the Data tab and select Brand management. This will take you to the brand management page. Click on New Brand.
Step 2: A new tab appears with a pop-up stating that, by default, all users will have access to this brand. If necessary, you can restrict access from the Users tab.
Step 3: The brand creation window opens. Two configuration tabs appear:

Brand type = empty value / first price / private label / distributor branded product
Creation date = automatically generated creation date
Last update date = date of last update

The "User" tab lets you see which people in your company have access to this brand, its catalog and its management (see User management).
Once you've finished configuring, click Save. Your brand is created!
Managing a brand
Once a brand has been created, two new tabs are visible.
Related products :
Modify brand = drop-down list enabling you to switch one of your products attached to the brand to another brand (from frozen to yogurt, for example).
Search = allows you to add products corresponding to your brand by GTIN, product name or internal reference. You can do this manually or directly via a text/CSV file.
You can add as many products as you like, as long as they belong to your brand, and you can always change the brand if you've made a mistake by returning to the modify brand tab.

Best practices
Don't forget to add an image to visually identify your brand in your brand management.
Best practices and usage:
There are two ways to modify a product brand. Either by going individually to each product sheet. Or by going directly to the brand in the brand catalog.
Individual modification of a product sheet:
If you wish to modify a brand on a product sheet, a pop-up window will appear to warn you that you can duplicate all the brand information on your product sheet:
Automatically, if you click on "YES", all the information located in the identification tab of the brand catalog (go back to the item to be identified) and summarized in brackets in the pop-up will replace the corresponding information in the product data sheet to update it. Note that this will automatically delete the previous data.
Via the brand catalog:
You can either add your new GTIN in the "attached products" section, and this will automatically add the brand's "identification" onget to the product data sheet by clicking on the "save" button.
Or modify the brand when the GTIN is already attached to a first brand. To do so, just select the corresponding GTIN, choose the brand and modify the brand. A pop-up window will then appear, notifying you of the change and confirming that this is what you want.
This is where you wish to operate by adding or updating GTINs. If you simply wish to change a brand's information, which will apply to all the brand's GTINs, simply modify the information in the "identification" tab and click on "save".
Please remember to wait for the QCD to run the next day, so that these changes can be applied to the brand's product files. You can force this delay by going to each product sheet individually and changing the brand name once, then a second time (but not practical).
In case it is still not working, please get in touch with your CSM or our support team.
